The short version. TuckIn is a sleep tracking and optimization app. Your privacy is fundamental to how we built this app. All health data processing happens entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal health data on external servers.
01Data we access
TuckIn reads the following data from Apple Health (HealthKit) with your explicit permission:
- Sleep analysis (sleep stages, duration, bed/wake times)
- Heart rate and resting heart rate
- Heart rate variability (HRV)
- Active energy burned
- Apple exercise time
- Physical effort (METs)
- Date of birth and biological sex (for personalized sleep need calculations)
This data is used solely to calculate your sleep metrics, strain, recovery score, and personalized sleep recommendations. TuckIn does not write any data back to Apple Health.
02Data storage & iCloud sync
TuckIn stores the following data using Apple's SwiftData framework:
- Calculated sleep metrics (up to 45 days of history)
- Heart rate and strain data (up to 45 days of history)
- Your preferences (wake-up time, sleep goal, alarm settings)
This data may be synced across your devices using Apple's iCloud (CloudKit). This sync is handled entirely by Apple's infrastructure and is subject to Apple's privacy policy. We do not operate any servers and have no access to your iCloud data. You can disable iCloud sync for TuckIn in your device's iCloud settings.
03Anonymous diagnostic data
To improve the accuracy of our sleep and strain calculations, TuckIn uploads anonymous, aggregated diagnostic data to Apple's CloudKit public database. This data includes:
- Computed sleep metrics (sleep duration, efficiency, sleep stages, sleep debt, sleep performance)
- Computed strain and recovery values (activity strain, HRV strain, recovery score)
- Sleep need calculations (healthy sleep need, strain-based need)
- A randomly generated device identifier — not linked to your Apple ID, name, or any personal information
- App version and iOS version
This data does not include your name, Apple ID, email address, location, raw HealthKit samples, or any other personally identifiable information. The anonymous device identifier is generated randomly at install time and cannot be used to identify you. This diagnostic data is used solely to validate that the app's calculations are working correctly across different users and sleep patterns.
04Notifications
TuckIn can send local notifications for wake-up alarms and bedtime reminders. These are scheduled entirely on your device and do not involve any external servers.
05No personal data collection or sharing
The TuckIn app does not:
The only data transmitted from your device is the anonymous diagnostic data described above, sent via Apple's CloudKit infrastructure.
06Third-party services
TuckIn uses only Apple-provided frameworks — HealthKit, SwiftData, CloudKit, and AlarmKit. No third-party SDKs or services are integrated into the app.
07This website
This website is separate from the app and the points above are about the app. On the website we use Google Analytics to count visits and which buttons are tapped (for example the App Store button), and Google may set cookies for this. The tuck-in counter on the home page stores only a running total and a per-country count. Your IP address is used briefly in memory to limit abuse and is not stored with the count. The website never reads your health data.
08Data retention & deletion
All personal data is stored on your device and may be synced to your iCloud account. Deleting the TuckIn app removes all locally stored data. To remove iCloud data, you can manage your iCloud storage in your device's Settings. You can also revoke HealthKit permissions at any time through the iOS Settings app.
Anonymous diagnostic data stored in CloudKit's public database may be retained for quality assurance purposes. This data cannot be linked back to you.
09Children's privacy
TuckIn does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app relies on Apple Health data which is subject to Apple's own age restrictions.
10Changes to this policy
If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be reflected in an app update. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised accordingly.
